A new generation of publicly owned and managed Extra Care Housing

Gentian Later Living

About Gentian

Living longer, later, better

Nurse with older woman
Gentian are committed to delivering a new generation of publicly owned Extra Care apartments

Next generation 'affordable' extra care should address five fundamental questions

Who? For older people living in Local Authority or other rented accommodation, be those multibedroom houses or flats, that no longer meet their physical needs or requirements

Why? To help address the unfair and inefficient use of public/rented housing stock and provide a bridge between fully independent living and dementia/ end of life care homes

What? Publicly owned controlled property assets, built with elegance and function in mind, that are highly energy efficiency, ecologically sustainable and built to last

Where? On publicly or privately owned ‘brownfield’ town centre sites, close to medical services, civic amenities, shops, transport interchanges and other facilities

How? Our income funded model uses a portion of the revenue and wider savings made (over 30 years) to pay all the design, planning and construction costs

Solution GLL provide a bespoke local approach, that shares best practice from other sectors and parts of the country
